TYSON: «It’s like a dream. I think somebody is going to wake me up and say ‘Get your ass back in the (jail) cell’ or something. It’s just an amazing medicine that people don’t look at for the perspective that it needs to be looked into.»
«It’s hard to really articulate it from my perspective, but psychedelics helped me assume my relationship with God,» added Tyson, self-described as a Muslim who «carries the characteristics of many religions.»
Most classical and non-classical psychedelic drugs are prohibited in the United States under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970. This family of chemical compounds are considered Schedule I drugs, the most tightly controlled and generally illegal class. This includes psilocybin (aka Magic Mushrooms), Methyl enedioxy methamphetamine (MDMA), Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), Ayahuasca, Ibogaine, Peyote, 2C-B, Cannabis, and others. Ketamine is also controlled under the same act and listed as a Schedule III drug. Due to the illegal or controlled nature of these drugs, it is not advised that you attempt to purchase, source, or otherwise possess any Scheduled substances, as you may be at risk of civil and criminal penalties.

Round 4: One-two lands by Wilder – let’s break out the champagne. Right to the body from Wilder backs the Chinese fighter up. Zhang jabs to the body. Zhang just misses with a fight-ending left. The American is too cautious — simply pawing with his left hand while retreating — and it’s making for a nightmare of a fight
Now, after experiencing the benefits of psychedelics for himself, the «Kid Dynamite» is getting ready to take a jab at the global mental health crisis with a personal investment in Wesana Health, a biotech company in the medicinal psychedelics space.
Universally recognized as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers in history —as well as one of the highest-paid athletes of all time— Tyson is joining the growing list of celebrities advocating for the therapeutic use of psychedelics like «magic mushrooms» and LSD.
Mike Tyson grew up in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York. Throughout his early life, Tyson lived in neighborhoods with a high crime rate. Oftentimes, Tyson found himself in trouble and eventually found himself living at the Tryon School for Boys.
Almost as soon as Givens left Tyson’s life, Don King entered. King had waited a long time. For years, Tyson had been making mincemeat of King’s stable of heavyweight champions, and it frustrated the promoter deeply that he had no piece of the champ. King’s first opening came at Jim Jacob’s funeral, which he attended uninvited, loudly condemning Tyson’s managers for such indignities as not having a limo ready for the champ. He had also worked strenuously to bring to light the suspicions of Givens and her mother toward Bill Cayton. And now, with Givens out of the picture, he pounced, offering Tyson the use of his farm in Ohio to recuperate from his disastrous marriage. King also proved useful, moving swiftly to close Tyson’s joint accounts with Givens, just in time to prevent her from transferring over $600,000 into her own account.
Since Tyson’s release, it seemed that he could not escape a life of crime. In 1997, Tyson’s boxing license was revoked for one year after he bit off a chunk of opponent Evander Holyfield’s ear during a boxing match. In the following years, Tyson was charged with two counts of misdemeanor assaults, one felony count of possession of drug paraphernalia, one felony count of drug possession, and two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence.
Michael Gerard Tyson was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 30, 1966, to Lorna Tyson and Jimmy Kirkpatrick. His father ran off before he was two years old, and Mike grew up with all the temptations division of boxing ghetto life. By the age of twelve, he was in a street gang and had been in and out of juvenile court. Finally, after an armed robbery conviction, in 1978, he was sent to the Tryon School for Boys, a reformatory, where the physical education instructor, Bobby Stewart, spotted his potential as boxer. In 1981, Stewart introduced the 14-year-old Tyson to his friend, the legendary Cus D’Amato, and D’Amato introduced him to the «sweet science» of boxing.
In 2000, Tyson had three fights. The first match in January was staged at the MEN Arena in Manchester, England against Julius Francis. Following controversy as to whether Tyson was allowed into the country, he took four minutes to knock out Francis, ending the bout in the second round. He also fought Lou Savarese in June 2000 in Glasgow, winning in the first round; the fight lasted only 38 seconds. Tyson continued punching after the referee had stopped the fight, knocking the referee to the floor as he tried to separate the boxers. It was after this fight that Tyson called out Lennox Lewis with his post fight speech proclaiming that he was the «best ever» and he was «Sonny Listion and Jack Dempsey, cut from their cloth.» In October, Tyson fought the similarly controversial Andrew Golota, winning in round three after Gołota was unable to continue due to a broken cheekbone, concussion, and neck injury. The result was later changed to no contest after Tyson refused to take a pre-fight drug test and then tested positive for marijuana in a post-fight urine test. Tyson fought only once in 2001, beating Brian Nielsen in Copenhagen by TKO in the seventh round.
